[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”358″ img_size=”large”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]The Driving Test Centre in Naas is the only Driving Test Centre in Kildare and attracts candidates from Kildare, Dublin, Wicklow and Laois. It can be quite busy with up to 8 driving tests taking place at the same time but there is ample parking unlike at other Driving Test Centres.
On the Naas Driving Test Routes you will likely be brought onto the outer ring road as well as through Main Street and past the Naas General Hospital. Naas is one of the better Driving Test Centres to drive around as it is less congested apart from on Naas Main Street where you will encounter all manner of hazards such as double parking, pedestrians stepping out unexpected and car doors opening.
Before the test reverse into a car park space right outside the hotel as these are the easiest ones to leave from. At the end of your test drive straight into space (you do not need to reverse). If the car isn’t parked correctly simply reverse back and correct it but make sure to do adequate observation.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]Leaving the Car park area there is a Stop sign right before the roundabout. Failure to stop fully here is an instant fail. You will turn right at this stop sign then immediately to the roundabout where you will turn left or right. This can be awkward if you have never done it before so make sure to practice leaving the driving test centre.
The prominent features of the Naas Driving Test Routes would be speed bumps, Main Street shopping area and roundabouts. Speed Bumps are classified as hazards and you need to check the mirrors and slow down before each one before building up speed again.
Generally speaking try to go over the “cushion” bumps in 2nd at 20/25kmph and the larger ones which cover the full width of the road in 3rd gear . Aim to slow down gently coming up to it, releasing the brake a few meters before hitting it and then begin to accelerate again once the impact has been made to maintain the speed.
If the speed bumps are far enough apart you can build up into a higher gear before dropping back down to 2nd or 3rd where necessary. Hitting speed bumps too fast is classified as a Grade 2 fault for Hazards and is one of the most common faults on the Naas Driving Test Route.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”349″ img_size=”large”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text]The Main Street area can be very busy and with numerous hazards to navigate which is why testers will often go that way. Throughout the driving test make sure to use good Mirror – Signal – Position – Speed – Look technique and for each hazard Look – Assess – Decide – Act.
The other unique feature of the Naas Driving Test Routes is the outer ring road. These circumvent the town centre and are a series of roundabouts. Some are 2 lanes and some are 1 so make sure to get the correct positioning or a Grade 2 fault will be given. They never tend to get too busy and with a little practice are not too difficult to handle in comparison to some of the Dublin Test Routes.

When is the best day or time to pass the driving test in Naas?
There are times of the day when the traffic around Naas is lighter. Generally speaking, Mondays and Fridays are busier than Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays and morning times are quieter than afternoons. The busiest time for driving tests in Naas is Friday afternoon so it is best to avoid choosing this time if possible. If you have an option of between 9:15-11:55am Tuesday to Thursday or the very rare Saturday morning slots then snap it up while you can.
After you receive the email from the RSA and go to choose a Test time it will only give options for 3 days. If neither the times or dates or suitable simply come back the next day and the options will have moved on a day. If you log on early in the morning you will have the best choice available. But don’t worry – If you are good enough to pass the day or time won’t make any difference![/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_separator color=”green” align=”align_left” border_width=”3″ el_width=”10″][vc_column_text]
